Reason and Prerequisites

Process Integration (PI) provides a CTC template to check the PI configuration on a ByD installation. You can execute this template after system copy, cloning or during runtime. It is available since NetWeaver 7.10 SP5 (ByD FP1.2 SP10), 7.11 SP1 (ByD FP2.0) and all higher releases. Details see below.
The “PI Self Test for ByD” check tool is integrated into the “System Copy Wizard” of ByD FP2.0 (NW 7.11 SP2).
To execute the template you need a user with same user name/password in Integration Server (IS) and Business by Design (ByD) client (which is also the UME client). This user needs ‘J2EE Administrator’ and ‘RFC function call’ permissions.

Solution

To run the template start the NetWeaver Administrator and navigate to
Configuration Management –> Scenarios –> Configuration Wizard. Select in the drop down list “All Configuration Tasks” and search for
“PI Self Test for ByD”.
Note: Open the “details” list after you have entered the required wizard data in the UI!
The wizard executes several steps. In case of failure, a step is marked as “skipped”. Details about the error can be received by clicking the following URL in the details area:

FAQs:

Question 1: On a ByD FP 2.0 System (SAP NetWeaver 7.11) the Wizard Template is not visible any longer. What can I do?
Answer: Refer to note 1339098. The note explains the reason and provides a workaround. The problem is solved with the highest available patch level of software Components “LM CONFIGURATION” (LMCFG).

Question 2: After I have executed the Wizard the ‘re-execute’, ‘resume’ and ’start’ buttons are grayed out. Some steps remain in status “In progress” with a green square and message “InvokeService- Result: OK”
Answer: This problem is caused by the CTC framework. Please update the Software Components “LM CONFIGURATION” (LMCFG) and “LM CONFIGURATION WIZARD” (LMCTC) to the highest available patch level. See note 1340881
for details.
