Database does not start when Sophos anti-virus is active

Symptom
A MaxDB/liveCache instance on a Linux system does not start when Sophos anti-virus software is active.
The start of the instance terminates with the following error:
ERR
-24994,ERR_RTE: Runtime environment error
20062,RTE error creating diag pipe failed:13
After the start, there is a file without authorizations in the directory <indepdatapath>\pipe. Example:
ll /sapdb/data/pipe/
total 0
———- 1 sdb sdba 0 2008-10-31 17:16 SID
Reason and Prerequisites
The reason for this behavior is not yet known. SAP is helping Sophos to find the error.
Solution
Deactivate the Sophos anti-virus software on the database server.
