Symptom
A customer menu contains nodes that are assigned to an enhancement ID, and therefore, they cannot be change or deleted.
Other terms
SE43
Reason and Prerequisites
In a customer system, you created a customer-specific area menu by copying from an SAP standard menu. The SAP menu, however, contained nodes to which enhancement IDs were assigned.
When copying, the assignment to these SAP enhancement IDs is transferred. Therefore, it is also contained in the customer menu.
In the copied menu, changes to nodes with enhancement ID are not direct, and only possible in enhancement mode. In some cases, this is not desired or problematic.
Additional information about enhancing area menus is available in Notes 193251 and 1313578.
Solution
Import the relevant Support Package or implement the correction instructions. This provides the report BMEN_CORRMEN2 that you can use to remove enhancement IDs from an area menu.
Executing the report BMEN_CORRMEN2
The selection screen of the report contains two parameters:
1. MENU Name of the area menu
Enter the name of the area menu. You can edit exactly one menu, and generic entries are not possible.2. EXT_ID Name of enhancement ID
You have two options:a) If you enter the name of an enhancement ID, all references to this enhancement ID are deleted from the node of the area menu.b) When you specify the generic character ‘*’, all references to all enhancement IDs are removed.
The report BMEN_CORRMEN2 can be used in customer systems only, and can only be applied to area menus that are not delivered by SAP.
You can execute the report BMEN_CORRMEN2 as often as required. It writes a short log that indicates how many entries were deleted from the tables TMENU01, TMENU01R and TMENU01T.
Changes are not recorded in a transport request. You are responsible for the transport of the changed area menus.

Titles cannot be changed automatically with the Note Assistant.
If required, change the title manually to
“Deleting enhancement IDs for area menu”.
