Ad hoc Workflow: The effect of this change is that versions of the Outlook email client prior to Outlook 2003 may represent the subject in the mail header pane as a series of question marks. This is because versions of Outlook prior to 2003 can’t display more than one multi-byte character set at a time in the header pane. The effect of this is that if a notification recipient is using Outlook 2000 and their Windows language setting is Korean, they will see Korean characters in the Outlook message header pane correctly. If they receive a Japanese notification, they will see the subject in the Outlook header pane as question marks. This is a limitation of Outlook prior to 2003 and can be resolved to upgrading to Outlook 2003.

Added feature:
Ad hoc Workflow: Added option to notify task assignees when task is created. Option is enabled through the Workflow configuration page by setting “Notify Assignees On Task Creation” to True. In Task Wizard, the notification option “Notify On Updates…” must be also selected.
Note that patch timeframe does not allow for translation of text, so the assignee notifications will have several strings in English only. This will be remedied by SPS14.

Ad hoc Workflow: Link to business object feature. When a Collaboration Task is launched from a Business Workflow work item, it should inherit a link to the business objects that are attached to the work item. Business case: When you fire off a collaboration task relating to the approval of, say, a purchase order it would help the recipient of the Collaboration Task if she could view the original purchase order. Limitation: The assignee of the sub process item mush have the user mapping to the backend system to view the detail of the leading business object.Ad hoc Workflow: Feature to “Export room tasks to Excel” has be added. This allows for exporting all the tasks that belong to a room to MS Excel.

Ad hoc Workflow: Ad hoc workflow attachment upload at the end of a subprocess to the Business workflow parent workitem. This also provides for viewing the subprocess history from the parent business workflow item. To turn on this feature – Go to System Administration->System Configuration->Universal Worklist & Workflow -> Workflow -> engine and set the #Business Workflow Integration Enabled# to #True#.
