Which CDs are delivered with which contents?

Frontend Package “Compilations”

Since July 1999 the SAP front end for Windows is delivered in what is referred to as ‘compilations’.
A new compilation is created when a component within the compilation has changed, for example the BW or the SCM add-on.
This new compilation then contains all components of the previous version, including the patches that have become available in the meantime, and the new components.

Compatibility of components

SAP GUI for Windows

The SAP GUI for Windows is compatible with all earlier SAP systems that are still maintained by SAP (see also Note 30460).
SCM

SCM front-end software can be used with all older SCM/APO back-end releases (see Note 320835).
BW

BW/BI front-end software can be used with older BW back-end releases. For details regarding the modified user guide, see Note 321973.
As a result, a newer compilation replaces all older versions – for the release track mentioned in each case.
The current compilations can be ordered online from the SAP Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/softwarecatalog or downloaded from the SAP Service Marketplace http://service.sap.com/installations (you require a valid user to do this in both cases).
Order the NetWeaver Presentation DVD here since this always contains the most current compilations of the SAP GUI CD (previously Presentation CD 1), SAP GUI for Java CD (previously Presentation CD 2) and the Server Components CD (ITS,IGS).

I. General information
You can install add-on installations only on certain SAP releases. The add-on WYGP ,Wyoming Gross Production,(called WYGP ,in the rest of this note) can therefore be used only on the SAP releases listed in section II/1.
Before you install the add-on, note the following restrictions concerning upgrades and maintenance for your SAP system that are caused by installing an add-on. You cannot uninstall an SAP add-on.In systems in which an SAP add-on is already installed, you can only upgrade to SAP Releases that are supported for the add-on. An overview of the upgrades supported for WYGP is given in section II/2. Note that there is a delay between the delivery of an SAP standard release and the release of the corresponding add-on release

If you are upgrading an add-on at the same time as you are upgrading your SAP release, it is integrated into the SAP upgrade (Repository switch). You require an additional add-on upgrade CD as well as the SAP standard system upgrade CD to carry out this upgrade. If you upgrade the SAP standard system without this additional CD, the add-on will not workafter the upgrade, since the entire SAP system is inconsistent. Read Note 33040 for more information about this problem.
In summary: as soon as you install an add-on for which no return to the SAP standard system is planned (retrofit), you can only choose certain upgrade paths for your SAP. In this case, you must always wait until these paths are supported. If you want to import SAP Support Packages into your system, you must wait if the add-on conflicts with the component of these packages until these packages are released for the add-on.

SAP add-ons and SAP Component Support Packages (CSPs)
SAP add-on releases are always based on a certain SAP Support Package level. If an SAP component is modified by the add-on, further Component Support Packages (CSPs) of this component are only supported with Conflict Resolution Transports (CRT).For some add-ons, Component Support Packages are only supported in blocks with collective CRTs (CCRTs = Collective Conflict Resolution Transport s). Therefore, the release of individual CSPs can be delayed for the add-on. More information about Support Packages and CRTs for R/3 or SAP systems with add-ons is available in Note 53902.

In some landscapes the router(firewall, bridge etc.) between two or more network segments could close the network connection if it remains inactive for longer time. Activated keepalive option for SAP application server does not help because keepalive interval (set by the operating system) is too large.

An idle connection is verified by TCP by sending so called “keep alive” packet. If remote computer is reachable it acknowledges the keep-alive packet. Keep alive packets are sent if the application support this option.
Default setting for keep alive might be configured too large and should be corrected.

You cannot set an expiration time for the client cache in the Object Navigator (transaction SE80) for the MIME folder that is assigned to a BSP application or a Web Dynpro component. This function is available only for the MIME objects themselves.

If a Web Dynpro application is running on a SAP NetWeaver Portal (producer) remote to the SAP NetWeaver Portal (consumer), it is displayed in the portal theme defined on the consumer. Also any customized theme is automatically used by the Web Dynpro application. If the producer is a SAP NetWeaver Application Server without a SAP NetWeaver Portal i. e. the Web Dynpro application runs stand-alone, it’s not possible to use a custom theme.
When a Web Dynpro application is called from a SAP NetWeaver Portal, two parameters are passed:

The Web Dynpro application checks these parameters and proceeds as follows:
If one of the parameters is missing, the Web Dynpro default theme is used. If for Web Dynpro no default theme is set,sap_tradeshowis taken.If thesap-cssversionon the consumer is lower than the producer’s version, then automatically the Web Dynpro application is displayed in the default theme. If for Web Dynpro no default theme is set,sap_tradeshowis taken.Ifsap-cssversionon the consumer is identical or higher than the producer’s version, the parametersap-cssurlis read. If it contains a URL that points to a theme, theTheme IDis extracted from the URL. If this theme is available on the producer, this one is taken.If a theme with thisTheme Idis not available on the producer, the relevant theme from the consumer is taken.With Web Dynpro versions equals or higher than 7.10 SP 4 (Java) or 7.01 (ABAP), the inline style mode was introduced. This mode can be configured in the SAP NetWeaver Administrator by specifying the propertyInlineCSS(for Web Dynpro ABAP:WDINLINECSS). If this property is set to true, the style classes are written in the HTML response itself and the specified style sheet cannot be taken from the consumer. If it is not available on the producer, again the Web Dynpro application is displayed with the default style sheet.Web Dynpro Java only: If the Web Dynpro propertyuseWebDynproStyleSheetis set to true, the Web Dynpro application ignores all parameters and uses its default theme. If for Web Dynpro no default theme is set,sap_tradeshowis taken.The Web Dynpro application being displayed in the default theme is also the fallback for any other inconsistencies in the style sheet calculation.How to retrieve the css-version currently installed:In the portal choose ‘System Administration’->’Support’.
Click on the area ‘Themes’, then ‘Browse Theme Database’.
In the tree appearing, mark the theme of interest und
click ‘Show Details’. The version of interest is the ‘ur’-Version.In a WD-ABAP screen produced with version 7.01/7.1 or higher just press and ‘p’ simultaneously.
A box containing information will appear, use the ‘>>’ link for expanding it. The rendering version will be displayed.

Solution

To display the Web Dynpro application in the consumer’s theme, it’s necessary to either have a version available on the consumer that is identical or higher than the producer’s version or to provide the needed theme on the producer.
To achieve this, apply one of the following solutions:
Provide the desired theme on the producer
Proceed as follows:
1. In the consumer portal navigate to System Administration -> Portal Display -> Theme Archive. Your themes are listed underExport Themes.2. Select the relevant theme and specify a directory for the zip file which contains the theme.3. Switch to the producer’s portal and navigate toSystem Administration -> Portal Display -> Theme Archive.4. Browse to the relevant zip file and chooseImport. While importing the relevant theme, a theme version is generated that fits to the producer’s version.
Note that if inline style mode is used, this option has to be chosen.
Upgrade the consumer
Upgrade the consumer to the same SP as the producer. More information: https://service.sap.com/upgrade
Set the property WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET
Web Dynpro ABAP only!
As of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SP 13 or 7.1 SP 2 you can force that a Web Dynpro ABAP application is displayed in the consumer’s theme by setting the propertyWDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEETto true.

There is no program to determine license data in a Central User Administration (CUA) across all the systems.

Solution

Use the Note Assistant to implement the correction instructions or import the relevant Support Package.
Caution:
If you want to use the Note Assistant to implement the corrections, you must first perform manual tasks (create Dictionary objects). The attached PDF document describes the properties of the new objects.
The text symbols and the report RSUSR_SYSINFO_LICENSE that is added to the SUIM tree are delivered as a Support Package only.

Program description

The new program RSUSR_SYSINFO_LICENSE provides the option to call and display user types from the systems of a CUA.

Caution:

The requirements are as follows:
To obtain the license types of the license audit, the new functions that are contained in Note 1307693 must be available in all affected systems.The RFC user in the CUA child system that was called has an authorization for the authorization object S_RFC with the function groups SUNI and SLIM_REMOTE_USERTYPES.

If these prerequisites are not met, the result list displays only the target state (values that are available in the central system) in the relevant columns.
As of the following Support Package levels, the required functions are contained in your systems:

Explanations for result list:

The”Contractual User Type”column displays the effective local user types from each individual system.
If the child system cannot be accessed using RFC, the system issues a relevant warning in the application log.
If the child system can be accessed, but the new function module SLIM_IF_LIST_USERTYPES does not exist in this system (see Note 1307693) or the RFC user does not have an authorization for the function group SLIM_REMOTE_USERTYPES, a relevant warning is issued in the application log as well.
Even if you set the distribution parameters for the license data to “Global” (transaction SCUM), the user type settings of a user for a specific child system may differ from the relevant data that is maintained in the central system. To recognize inconsistencies of this type, the”Value in CUA Central”column additionally outputs the value that is maintained for the user and the child system in the central system.
For the two columns “Contractual User Type” and “Value in CUA Central”, the column set of the ALV list includes the related columns with the technical values for the user type. They are named “ID: Contractual User Type” and “ID: Contractual User Type in CUA Central”. They are not displayed in the standard settings of the result list.
Furthermore, the following rules apply:
General:
Users are irrelevant for the license audit if one of the following conditions applies:
1. Technical users are involved that were not classified in an explicitly manual manner.2. The user does not exist in the affected system; the user is not valid in the relevant validity period or is a reference user, which can generally not be classified.

For these users, the system issues the message”User is for Licence Measurement irrelevant”in the “Contractual User Type” column.
More information about the user relevance for the license audit is available under the component XX-SER-LAS.
For users that are directly in the central system, the following applies:
If no user type has been defined for a user in transaction SU01, the system displays the standard user type. You can recognize these cases by the fact that the”Value in CUA Central”column does not display any value for these users.
For users in child systems, the following applies:
1. If the”Value in CUA Central”column does not display any value:The central system has not assigned a user type to this user.
The user type that is output in the”Contractual User Type”column for this, is the standard user type in this child system or was assigned locally in the child system using USMM.
If the latter is the case, you must use transaction SCUG to transfer the license data for these users to the central system again.2. If the”Contractual User Type”and”Value in CUA Central”columns display values, but the values differ:The IDoc that contains the user type change for this user has not yet been transferred to the child system or has not yet been processed.The user type was changed locally.
