Patch Process for SAPXIGUI

Symptom

After deployment of new patch of only SAPXIGUI archive, fix not reflected in System.

Reason and Prerequisites

SAPXIGUI for PI 7.11 is patched/deployed , but changes are not reflected because PI maintains cache of client side(PI tools) jars on server for java web start support, which is only invalidated(refilled or updated) automatically when SAPXIESR , SAPXITOOLS , SAPXIPCK is deployed but not with deployment of SAPXIGUI

Solution

Current solutions are -
If you are patching only SAPXIGUI , then after deployment of SAPXIGUI , please reset Java Web Start cache.
To reset java cache , please perform following steps -
1. Open start-page of PI or CE-ESR , i.e. http://: /rep/start/index.jsp
2. Open “Administrator” link
2a. Perform following steps for all tabs available (Repository/Directory/Runtime)
2b. Select “Java Web Start Administration”
2c. Select action – “Restore Archives”
Note:- For ESR installation on Netweaver CE(Composition Environment), only Repository Tab will be enabled.
This issue is also fixed from 7.11 SP01 (please find the patch details below) , 7.11 SP02 and above in SAPXIESR , SAPXITOOL , SAPXIPCK sca.
Patches to be applied in 7.11 SP01 to fix the issue-
