Reason and Prerequisites

You attach to existing spool requests.

Solution

Note 85318 describes how to attach to existing spool requests. There are a large number of database accesses when the system tries to find a suitable spool request. This can cause performance problems. The search process can be optimized by also specifying a spool number that is already known.
Proceed as follows:
1. Import the relevant kernel patches for your release:

700: 169
701: 005
710: 111
2. Import the Support Package relevant for this note or implement the attached correction instructions. The correction instructions can be implemented as of the following Support Packages:
620: SAPKB62063
640: SAPKB64021
700: SAPKB70013
3. Use the report RSPO0021 to activate the option APPEND_SPOOLID.

Note that the attachment behavior changes after you execute the specified measures. The system no longer attaches to the oldest suitable request, but to the most recent.
