Symptom

After installation of the new version of Networker, the MaxDB backup is no longer recognized as successful.
Other terms

Networker, backup, save
Reason and Prerequisites

The new version of Networker ignores the ‘-l’ option in the save command. Therefore, the MaxDB software cannot recognize the save operation as successful.
The problem is known as of Networker Version 7.4A00SP4.
Solution

Since there is no solution available yet in the MaxDB software, you need to add the environment variable NSR_MAST=nsradmin to the save environment.
This is described in the MaxDB documentation, section “Exporting Environment Variables for the External Backup Tool”, which you can find here:
http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_6/a2/bf8164c43c82449ea6bc26fb4ab696/content.htm
Execute this command:
dbmcli -d -u control, dbm_configset -raw set_variable_ NSR_MAST=nsradmin
You can find the value of by executing this command:
dbmcli -d -u control, dbm_configget
At the moment there is no MaxDB software version available which can handle this problem without workaround. This note will be changed accordingly as soon the corrected MaxDB software is available.
