Release restrictions of SAP NetWeaver 2004s – Usage Type Process Integration (PI)
Reason and Prerequisites
At the time of the release of SAP NetWeaver 2004s limitations existed concerning the productive usage of certain functions of the usage type Process Integration. This note provides customer information on these restrictions.

Integration Directory – Service: access control using assigned users not supported
The following function is described in the documentation: For sender services of type Business Service or Business System, you can restrict access to the runtime environment to particular users. An authorization check is then carried out at runtime prior to inbound processing of the message. This ensures that messages that have the particular service entered as the sender in the message header can only be executed on the Integration Server or in the Adapter Engine by the specified users. This function is not available.

Described functionality is now provided with SP05.

System Copy Usage Type Process Integration (XI)
The system copy for usage type Process Integration (XI) is not released yet.

HighAvailability Setup Type ASCS not supported for Usage Type PI
The new High Availability Setup Type ASCS will be supported with SPS08 for the Usage Type PI. The ASCS Setup in SPS08 will not support automatic failover of the Integration Builder Tools (Repository & Directory). This should be supported with SPS09. The High Availability Setup Type must be decided before you start your installation. In case you need HA before SPS08 is released please don’t start your installation without SAP guidance. You may ask for guidance via customer message in our SAP Service Marketplace.
