I. General information

The add-on ‘SAP Solution Manager Service Tools’ (ST-SER) requires the ‘SAP Solution Manager Tool’ (ST) add-on and can be installed only for certain releases of the required components.
The ST-SER add-on provides contents that you can use within SAP Solution Manager to implement, operate and monitor mySAP.com solutions.
To install the ST-SER add-on, a suitable version of the ST add-on must have been installed previously. Refer to Note 394616.
Parallel installation of additional content add-ons, such as SAP Solution Manager Implementation Content (ST-ICO), is permitted.

As of ST-SER 320, the software is available electronically on SAP Service Marketplace only and is not available on CD from SAP.

A combination of other SAP add-ons with ST-SER is generally released if the same system requirements are provided.

VI. Maintenance
The ST-SER add-on is maintained using Support Packages. You can find information about individual errors (and how to eliminate them) in the SAP notes system.Maintenance for a release usually ends when the new release becomes available. This means no more Support Packages will be provided and you have to upgrade to the current release.You will find the Support Packages for ST-SER in the Software Distribution Center on SAP Service Marketplace:

Note that in addition to the ST-SER release, there is also a new ST-PI release available, which should be implemented in the managed systems and in SAP Solution Manager (you can find more information about this in Note 539977).Replace the service definitions in SAP Solution Manager as described in Note 727998.After you have imported a new ST-SER release or ST-SER Support Package to SAP Solution Manager, execute transaction /nSOLMAN_SETUP in SAP Solution Manager.Choose “Basic configuration” – Step 2 “Implement note” and proceed as described here.
Because the central correction note is constantly updated and SAP Solution Manager is therefore constantly provided with error corrections, we recommend that you always download the newest version from SAP.
