SAP SQL Statistics has been removed from DBA Cockpit

[] [] [] []

Symptom

The database monitoring transaction “SAP SQL Statistics” under Performance -> Additional Functions -> SAP SQL Statistics is no longer working in the DBACOCKPIT. In SAP NetWeaver 7.0 releases no data appears, and in later SAP NetWeaver releases the feature was removed from the DBACOCKPIT.
In SAP NetWeaver 7.0 systems running on SQL Server 2008 or higher, the “Status Overview” shows the application servers but the data collection is off. Turning on the data collection has no effect.

Reason and Prerequisites

You have upgraded to a database version or SAP NetWeaver version that uses the ODBC DBSL runtime library (lib_dbsl).
The ODBC DBSL is used for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 running on SQL Server 2008 or higher. Also, SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EhP1 and higher only use the ODBC DBSL.
The ODBC DBSL was developed for SQL Server 2005 or higher only. SQL Server 2005 has new features for monitoring statement performance and optimization. These new features are available in a new DBA Cockpit feature under Performance -> SQL Statements. This method of monitoring statements is highly recommended, and is superior to the older “SAP SQL Statistics”.
The ODBC DBSL has no support for “SAP SQL Statistics”.

Solution

Use the Performance -> SQL Statements transaction for statement performance monitoring.
