Symptom

In Test Plan Management (transaction STWB_2), performance problems occur.
1. In Test Plan Management, you select the ‘Test Package Management’ or ‘Status Overview’ function and it takes a very long time for transaction STWB_2 to generate the ‘Test Plan, Packages, and Tests Assigned’ overview.

Reason and Prerequisites
1. User settings:a) In your personal settings, you have determined that the system is to always update the test plan automatically. At present, the test plan status is not current. After the last status analysis of the test plan, you changed status values of test cases in the test packages. Before the system displays the ‘Test Plan, Packages, and Tests Assigned’ overview, it creates a status analysis for the test plan.b) In your personal settings, you have determined that the system is to always update messages automatically. Before the system displays the ‘Test Plan, Packages, and Tests Assigned’ overview, it determines the current status of the messages.

Solution
1. If you do not want the system to automatically update the test plans or the messages,a) you have to deselect the relevant checkboxes as follows: In the menu in transaction STWB_2, choose “Utilities -> Settings -> Status”.b) Update the test plan and the messages manually if necessary.
