This Note applies to the following procedures:
Released for customers: Conversion after Upgrade to at least Web AS 6.20 (separate procedures)
Conversion of SAP MDMP Systems (Web AS 6.20 and higher) to UnicodeConversion of SAP Ambiguous Blended Code Page Systems (Web AS 6.20 and higher) to Unicode
These procedures are described in the “Unicode Conversion Guide” which is published individually per SAP_Basis Release/Support Package. See section ‘Required Readings’ in this Note for details.
This Note does not apply to the following procedures:

For information about new installations refer to SAP Service Marketplace at at http://service.sap.com/instguides. Choose the applicable Web AS or NetWeaver release and then select the appropriate Installation Guide for to your Database/OS combination.

Required Readings

A Unicode Conversion is done as part of a standard system copy. Therefore, you need the Homogeneous and Heterogeneous System Copy Guide and the Installation Guide for your release/SAP solution in addition to the Unicode Conversion Guide. The Unicode Conversion Guide refers to the System Copy Guide wherever needed.
Read the complete Unicode Conversion Guide (UCG) before starting to prepare the conversion procedure. You can download the applicable document version from the Note attachments. If you need additional documentation, overview presentations, other help material, Unicode-related SAP Notes and useful links as well as information about current developments, please refer to the Unicode section on SDN.
Note: Starting with SAPKB62062/SAPKB64021/SAPKB70014 the Unicode Conversion Guide is valid only for MDMP and Ambiguous Blended Code Page systems. For Single Code Page systems there is a separate documentation available (see SAP Note 1051576).
Minimum Support Package level
You must apply at least the following Support Packages for the Unicode Conversion:
SAPKB62060
SAPKB64019
SAPKB70011
However, as the conversion tools are still being improved, SAP strongly recommends you to apply thenewest availableSupport Package of your release.
In addition, the UCG documents are being revised and republished attached to this SAP Note on a regular basis. Please make sure you download the newest document version before you start the actual conversion process.
Solution
Follow the steps described in the Unicode Conversion Guide.
