Symptom

You carry out an upgrade to SAP ERP Central Component ECC 6.0 EHP4(abbreviated to ECC 6.0 EHP4 in this note) with SAP AFS 6.4.
There is no add-on-specific guide. This note contains the additional add-on-specific information about the upgrade.

Reason and Prerequisites

Upgrading the add-on using the supplementary CD.
The technical name of the add-on SAP AFS 6.4 is P3A V604.
For this reason, the name P3A V604 is used in this note.
The following initial situations are supported for the upgrade to ECC 6.0 Ehp4 with P3A V604:
R/3 4.6C + P3A V3.0B
ECC 5.0 + P3A V500
For all other older releases a two step upgrade is necessary.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
AFS is an Industry Solution. So it must be made sure that no other Industry Solution is activated before or after the upgrade. It is not recommended to upgrade ECC-DIMP or IS-M or IS-OIL to a new EHP or higher SP level in AFS systems. P3A V604 has technical restrictions to work with some specific support packs/EHPS of above mentioned components hence your system might not work after the upgrade.
o Delivery of P3A V604
The upgrade CD for P3A V604 is not automatically
sent to all customers. if you want to carry out the upgrade,
request the CD with the material number 51035772 from the
responsible subsidiary or download the CD from SAP Service
Marketplace..
Unicode installations.
For ECC installations on Unicode systems, the restrictions for ECC 6.0 mentioned in Notes 852235 and 79991 apply for P3A V604

Supplementary CD.
When you upgrade an SAP R/3 release to ECC 6.0, the system recognizes that an ABAP add-on is installed and requests an additional CD or an upgrade package for the add-on. This means that the ABAP add-on is also updated during the standard upgrade.
NOTE
If you are upgrading to ECC 6.0 or higher versions with the industry solution P3A (SAP Apparel and Footwear), without the system having read the data of the upgrade CD with material number 51035772 (phase IS_SELECT), the system no longer works after the upgrade. The system status is inconsistent, which means that SAP cannot guarantee that it can be operated correctly.

Shortening a domain, Note 817898
Before the upgrade, make sure you refer to Note 817898 to avoid data loss and long runtimes.
Implement the latest SPAM/SAINT update.
Make sure that you have implemented the latest SPAM/SAINT update in your system.
Import the latest R3trans and tp:
Make sure that you have imported the latest kernel version into
your system. If a newer version is available on SAP Service
Marketplace, import the latest kernel.
Component Support Packages that should be included in the upgrade
In addition to the software status contained in ECC 6.0, for the upgrade you require a minimum of the Support Packages of the following components:

“If you include higher support package level of SAP_APP 604 in your upgrade then you should also inlcude corresponding AFS CRT’s.”
You can download the relevant data files from SAP Service Marketplace. Before the prepare phase UPLOAD_REQUEST is started, the datafiles must be provided in directory /EPS/in. See Note 83458 for information about downloading Support Packages, and Note 119738 form information about including Support Packages in the upgrade.
Including further component Support Packages
Add-On P3A V604 modifies the SAP_APPL component. You can import more Support Packages of this component after the upgrade, but you must first ensure that there are relevant CRTs (Conflict Resolution Transports) of Add-On P3A V604 for these SAP_APPL Support Packages.
The CRTs are available on SAP Service Marketplace. There is an error in the PREPARE phase if you include a SAP_APPL component Support Package which does not yet have a CRT. The CRTs are available on SAP Service Marketplace.
The Support Packages of components that are not modified by P3A V604 can be included in the upgrade without using CRTs.
Providing the P3A V604 upgrade supplements.
Download the P3A V604 CD from SAP Service Marketplace or install the add-on supplement CD with the material number 51035772.
As of Basis Release 700, the add-on upgrade package is
automatically unpacked from the CD. To do this, specify the
directory under which the add-on upgrade CD was installed in the
UPLOAD_REQUEST phase.
If you downloaded the add-on upgrade package directly from SAP
Service Marketplace, unpack it in the /in
directory.
Information: The CSN0120061532_0035176.PAT file should be in the
/in directory (at the latest after the
UPLOAD_REQUEST phase).

5. Additions to the Upgrade
o Additional information about the Prepare:
- Phase IS_SELECT
Select the upgrade type for the installed add-ons:
P3A :”Upgrade with SAINT Package”
- Phase BIND_PATCH
This displays which Support Packages were found in directory
/in and can be included in the upgrade. Make
sure that at least the Support Packages mentioned in section 4
are included in the upgrade.
o Additional information about SAPup
- Phase ADDONKEY_CHK
The password for P3A V604 is required. You are referred to Note
1162521. Note 1162521 refers to this note.

7. Actions after the upgrade
Process log file LONGPOST.LOG
If there are errors reported in the upgrade log file LONGPOST.LOG when executing the XPRA report /AFS/NDIF_CREATE_CAT_CHAR, see Note 789797 and carry out the activities mentioned there.
You can only start production operation once ALL errors listed in the log file LONGPOST.LOG are solved.
Implement Note 949394
After upgrade , read the note 949394 and also you must implement the note in your system.
Implement Note 1041015
After the upgrade, you must implement Note1041015into your system. This note contains modifications, which are not part of the P3A V604 upgrade supplement, for the component SAP_ABA.
AFS V604, is an Industry Solution. So it must be made sure that
no other Industry Solution is activated before or after ,the
upgrade to P3A V604.
Importing languages after the upgrade
If you intend to install additional languages, we recommend
that you do this before you import further Support Packages.
Refer to the section “Language support”.
Import Support Packages after the upgrade
The add-on P3A V604 modifies the SAP_APPL component. After the upgrade, you can import further Support Packages of this component, although you must first check whether there are already CRTs (Conflict Resolution Transports) that correspond to the Add-On P3A V604. The CRTs are available on the SAP Service Marketplace.
There is general information about CRTs in Note 53902.
The Support Packages of components that P3A V604 does not modify can be imported without using CRTs.
********External(!) ITS ONLY: Publishing Internet application components
(IAC):
- If you want to use the add-on-specific Internet application
components (IACs), you must publish them from the SAP system
to the ITS. Note 325149 describes how the IACs are published
(it is done using the program W3_PUBLISH_SERVICES). This
program requires a transport request. There, specify the
transport request
that contains all add-on-specific IACs.
Delivery Customizing:
- Import delivery Customizing into client 000 and copy it to
other clients if necessary. For this purpose, see Note 337623.

8. Language support
In addition to German and English, the following languages are
supported by P3A V604: French, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, Korean, Turkish, Chinese, traditional Chinese, Dutch , Portuguese, Russian and Hebrew.
If you use these languages, you must include them in the upgrade. As of
Basis Release 700, the packages are automatically unpacked from
the CD to /in, otherwise, you must make the packages available in the directory mentioned above manually.
The language packages of P3A V604 are available in the “LANGUAGE” directory on the upgrade CD with the material number 51035772.
Note: The NWBC (Netweaver Business Client) does not currently support RTL (Right to Left) languages. As some POWLs (POWer Lists) are included in the current release, which are rendered on NWBC, the display of the same may not be proper if used with any of the RTL languages.
