Symptom

You created a list with more than 255 columns and you set the GUI window so wide that more than 255 columns could be displayed in it.
The system still displays only a maximum of 255 columns on the screen. The first part of the list may be overwritten.

Reason and Prerequisites

The list processor can work internally with list widths of a maximum of 1023 characters. The GUI log can manage only a maximum of 255 columns.

Solution

If the first part of the list is overwritten, see Note 1154490.
To display the full width of the list on the screen, you require the kernel patch specified below and a SAPGUI with the following patch level:
SAP GUI for Windows with Release 7.10 patch level 9 or higher.
